Objective

The aim of this study is to present a clinical case demonstrating mechanical, aesthetic, and functional biomimetic restoration of an endodontically treated lower molar.

Case report

Female patient, 50 years old, presented the first permanent molar, endodontically treated and extensively destroyed. We opted for direct coronal reconstruction using Vittra APS Unique (FGM) composite resin with a fluid consistency (58 to 62% load by weight) and conventional (72 to weight) and conventional (72 to 80% load in weight), associated with Interlig glass fiber (Angelus) and the use of selective acid etching of the enamel with the Ambar APS system (FGM).

Advantages

Biomimetic approaches are less invasive and preserve structural integrity of compromised teeth, focus adhesion, and reduce the occurrence of irreparable damage and increase the fracture resistance of endodontically treated teeth.

Limitations

One restriction may be connected to proficiency in applying the technique, handling challenges, and adaptability of the fiberglass.

Conclusions

Considering the results achieved, it can be concluded that the restorative technique employed can be in a single session, with excellent color biomimicry and functional performance. It therefore represents an affordable restorative option with satisfactory results in the rehabilitation of endodontically treated and extensively destroyed teeth.
