Clinically, this hydration reaction depends a lot on the conditions of the root canal where the sealer will be inserted, which is a more or less humid canal. Under standardized conditions of humidity, the hydration reaction - "alkaline reaction" - takes an average of 28 days, however this process occurs in phases (I, II, III, IV and V) with variation in the amounts of Ca(OH)2 produced in the long-term.
