Evaluation of the push-out bond strength of an adjustable fiberglass post system to an endodontically treated oval root canal

RESUMEN:
The results showed higher push-out bond strength in the initial time interval for SAP (10.3±5.3, p<0.01). After 6 months, there was reduction in push-out bond strength for both (p<0.001). A higher percentage of adhesive and cohesive failures to dentin. After 6 months areas of maladaptation were noted (p=0.000). The SAP is completed to the promissory root canal in relation to alternative CFP.

Host defense peptides combined with MTA extract increase the repair in dental pulp cells: in vitro and ex vivo study

RESUMEN:
MTA induced high cellular migration rates in 48 h (p < 0.05). Furthermore, the combination of IDR1018 and MTA also induced high expression levels of DSPP, ALP activity, and the production of calcification nodules. So, IDR-1018 and its combination with MTA could assist in pulp-dentine complex repair process in vitro.

High-plasticity mineral trioxide aggregate and its effects on M1 and M2 macrophage viability and adherence, phagocyte activity, production of reactive oxygen species, and cytokines

RESUMEN:
M1 and M2 macrophages presented different viability in response to MTA and MTA-HP at different time points. Introducing a plasticizer into the MTA vehicle did not interfere with the activity of M1 and M2 macrophages. BIOCOMPATIBILITY

Outcomes of Endodontic-Treated Teeth Obturated with Bioceramic Sealers in Combination with Warm Gutta-Percha Obturation Techniques: A Prospective Clinical Study

RESUMEN:
The success rate of used bioceramic sealers was not statistically significant different (99.1%, 100%, 97.5% and 100%, respectively, for CeraSeal, BioRoot, AH Plus Bio, and BIO-C SEALER ION). Nonetheless, the distribution of healed, healing, and not-healed teeth was different between teeth sealed with different materials (p < 0.01). From the findings of this clinical study, the following conclusion can be drawn: a correct filling of root canals made with warm gutta-percha technique combined with a bioceramic sealer allows a high success rate in endodontically treated teeth.

Canal Drying Protocols to Use with Calcium Silicate–based Sealer: Effect on Bond Strength and Adhesive Interface

RESUMEN:
Based on the outcomes of this study, the best drying protocol for AHP is using the White Mac tip in the orifices of root canals for 5 seconds followed by a size 0.48-mm capillary aspiration in the apical third with a gentle up-and-down motion for 5 seconds and paper points until complete dryness. For BCS, the White Mac tip followed by capillary aspiration without paper points should be used.

Hydraulic calcium silicate-based root canal sealers mitigate proinflammatory cytokine synthesis and promote osteogenesis in vitro

RESUMEN:
In conclusion, the three HCSB sealers, BioC, WST, and BC exhibited high biocompatibility with Kusa-A1 cells and promoted their osteoblastic differentiation/mineralization probably by the release of Ca2þ. Moreover, BioC, WST, and BC reduced the synthesis of proinflammatory cytokines IL- 1a, IL-1b, IL-6, and TNF-a from LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. These properties are considered beneficial for the healing of periapical lesions accompanied by new alveolar bone formation and apical closure with newlyformed mineralized tissue(s).

Effect of Ultrasonic Activation on Dentinal Tubule Penetration of Bio-C Temp and Ultracal XS: A Comparative CLSM Assessment

RESUMEN:
UA increases tubular penetration (both depth and area) of Bio-C Temp at the apical third but has no significant effect on Ultracal XS. Bio-C Temp has a greater depth and tubular penetration area than Ultracal XS after UA.

Influence of bioceramic intracanal medication on the bond strength of bioceramic root canal sealer

RESUMEN:
The conclusion reached by the present study was that intracanal medication based on bioceramic compounds chemically interacted with the bioceramicbased root canal sealer to form a biomineralizing layer,
which allowed for an increase in the bond strength and formation of an adhesive interface between the materials, with no or less gap formation.
