Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
The recommended technique is to use it with gp cones, as sealer only should be harder to be removed if needed.
The setting time is ≤240 minutes and depends on canal humidity level.
No, moisture, which initiates the sealer setting, comes from apical tissues and dentinal tu-bules.
BIO-C SEALER ION+ has no resinous base. Its viscosity is given by a long-chain alcohol, the polyethylene glycol. Therefore, the product is more biocompatible and easier to clean.
The storage should be in a dry ventilated place and it SHOULD NOT BE STORED IN THE FRIDGE.
Yes, the product can be used for both cold single or lateral condensation techniques.
BIO-C SEALER ION+ is a non-resin based ready-to-use bioceramic sealer with a 65% bioc-eramic load.
MTA-Fillapex is a resin based bioceramic sealer (salicylate resin), dual paste, with a 13% bioc-eramic load.
It is possible to perform 10 to 12 root canal obturations.
The BIO-SEALER ION + has in its composition modified calcium silicate and calcium sulfate which, when in contact with water, are hydrated in the form of hydrated modified calcium silicate (Ca2MgSi2O7.H2O) and hydrated calcium sulfate (CaSO4. 2H2O), both are poorly soluble, causing saturation in the physiological environment and consequently, precipitation of needle-shaped crystals. The imbrication of these needle-shaped crystals (CaSO4.2H2O) with modified Ca2MgSi2O7.H2O crystals provide cohesion and mechanical strength while promoting desirable expansion. A portion of the material in the form of calcium, magnesium, and hydroxyl ions can be absorbed quickly in contact with perirradicular tissues if accidentally extruded. However, Ca2MgSi2O7.H2O and CaSO4.2H2O are matrices that in the presence of the radiopacifying content (zirconium oxide) represent the insoluble part of the product, and exhibit high chemical stability, being not absorbed or solubilized.
The product has about 67.5% of bioceramic content in its composition.
