Berger's condensers are distributed in 3 different diameters with different lengths, and more efficient in condensing each third of the root canal.
Other market pluggers have a diameter of 15 to 40 and are very thin, closer to a spreader, therefore, they are not so effective in apical condensation.
After heating and lamination of a gutta-percha cone or an apical filling, the use of finger pluggers (with handle/manual) for apical condensation, has led to cone or filling removal, forcing the professional to restart the procedure.
Spreaders are instruments to create space to improve the quality of the lateral condensation technique. It has a tapered tip.
Pluggers are tools intended to be used cold to condense the filling in apical direction. It has a faceted tip. Their purpose is to condense, push the heated filling. The Berger's condenser can also be used heated to laminate and condense the filling in the apical direction.
The steel is of high quality, which minimizes deformation in the instrument, providing a higher lifespan than conventional stainless steel.
